When I try to open 2012r1 is get the same message box. I also get it for 2011r4. Reopening gets the same message. I'm off to try several things, deleting Prefs etc before I panic as today was supposed to be a coding day. I checked the Created dates of my original RS2012 R1 install and the new one - they were out by a few hours difference, both August 22. Anyway, download again and should be fine. I will try the suggestion fix. Thank you guys for mentioning it. To people that don't have internet or fast internet access for the new download this is infuriating and could be even damaging to their business. Hi Gavin. You probably have not used REALbasic for as long as I have and many others on this forum have. I'm guessing you haven't used as many 'advanced' features either. I can say this because if you had then you'd of experienced very many bugs in almost every release. If you disagree then please tell me which features you've used without issues because I'd like to know what REAL Studio's reliable points are. I'm not going to get into a flamewar with you over what bugs there are or have been in the software. Suffice to say, I continue to use it because, on balance, it has a hugely positive effect on my productivity. Discussion strong points or weak points of REAL Studio isn't a flame war. If you weren't going to back up your disagreement then you probably shouldn't of posted that you 'wholeheartedly' disagree. It's empty. What benefit to anyone is saying that without adding anything helpful? I'm asking you to offer what you're claiming have been the most reliable and strongest points of RS are and you can't. The reason why I want you to list them is so that I and others can gear our RS projects to use mostly those features you're claiming are highly reliable to avoid future bugs, delays and other issues. I don't understand why you'd bother to post that you disagree and in your opinion RS is a great, solid, reliable tool but you offer no real world cases or mention of what you consider it's strongest points that have been most reliable to you are? You're obviously riled up and I'm not going to start a debate with you that neither of us can win. I'll claim X, Y and Z work fine for me and you'll claim that they haven't worked for you in the past or don't now. My point was that I think Real Studio has a great future ahead. Like many of us, I have a number of bugs filed in Feedback but I've always found ways around them and I'm still more productive than the years I spent with Xcode. I'm sorry it's not working out for you but it's working out great for me.
