Posts: 3173 I have essentially done nothing.
I have 2 buttons on a page, and connect to a mySQL Database in the Open of a
Session
in button 1 I coded

Session.db.SQLExecute"CREATE TABLE timer(login TEXT, passWord TEXT, textbox
TEXT)"
if Session.db.Error = True then
  MsgBox Session.db.ErrorMessage
Else
  MsgBox "No Error"
end if
Session.db.SQLExecute"COMMIT"

15 seconds to get "No Error" to show

button 2 I have coded

Dim rs As RecordSet = Session.db.SQLSelect("SHOW TABLES")
if rs = Nil then
  MsgBox "nope"
Else
  MsgBox"yup"
  While rs.EOF = False
  TextArea1.Text = TextArea1.Text + rs.IdxField(1).getString
  Wend
End If

5 mins and neither Msgbox is showing

TIA

Location: Canada, Alberta, Near Red Deer wheres the connected
database hosted at ?
can you get at it manually (say in a command line tool ?)

There's no reason I can think of that this would take that long

Posts: 3173 Is it possible that the Comp Services just set it up
wrong?

This app connects to a database one button gives you a message box one gives
you a msgbox then is suppose to list the tables in the text area

This is simple html

The information the guy that set it up gave me is
The webserver is a virtual machine. There are no other webservers running.

Current configuration is:

1x2.856GHz cpu
1024MB memory.
Apache

If I upload a new 'compile' it takes up to an hour before I can use that, I
thought it was my cache but I switched to a fresh box that had never been to
that URL and the "old" version still loaded.
