Southern California Ok, I'm getting old and am having a brain freeze. I have an application where, depending on a user-selection, a string needs to get inserted, at a user-selected point, into an existing string. Right now, I'm taking the original string, splitting it into 2 parts at the insertion point, and then concatenating the three sections back together in the appropriate order. Isn't there a built-in function to do this? Or am I remembering a different coding language from many (many) years back? - Dale (Don't ask why the user wants to do this instead of just typing it out in a text field because, hey, he's paying so I'll code it.) _________________ ----- Real Studio 2012r1 on Windows 7 (64 bit) ----- Vote and the choice is yours. I think you are remembering a VB function to insert using MID Top ktekinay Post subject: Re: Inserting a substring questionPosted: Fri Nov 02, 2012 8:22 pm Joined: Mon Feb 05, 2007 5:21 pm Posts: 220 Location: New York, NY Is this into a TextField control? fld.SelText = "some text" _________________ Kem Tekinay MacTechnologies Consulting http://www.mactechnologies.com/ Need to develop, test, and refine regular expressions?
