Having said that, I have not worked with WE more than playing around with a trial version but I was considering it for an upcoming project. However, the live apps that I have been testing have crashed, including some that belong to members of this forum. So the question is: Can I depend on WE as a astable development tool for an app that would handle 250 concurrent users? Or for that matter, can WE be trusted at all at this stage? To add to the question, have any of you developed a stable project with WE? _________________ Windows 8 Pro 64 bit / 8 GB RAM Windows 7 Premium / 8 GB RAM Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit SP1 / 4 GB RAM Windows XP Pro SP3 / 2 GB RAM OSX 4 GB RAM UBUNTU 2 GB RAM Top Akiland Post subject: Re: Is WE a stable platform?Posted: Fri Dec 07, 2012 1:12 am Joined: Tue Jan 04, 2011 3:02 am Posts: 1053 Location: Jönköping, Sweden We've developed a laundry booking system with WE along with an SMS gateway (to enable users too book using SMS). All in WE except for the mobile version that's using jQTouch. Works like a charm PM me if you want the link to the demo or some videos I've created. It has NOT been used by 250 concurrent users o I can't help you there :/ It's hosted on a VPS from ipeer.se _________________ http://www.linkedin.com/in/albinkiland Dev. iMac 27" + 2x22" LG (2.8GHz Intel Core i7, 12GB RAM, 120GB SSD) OS X 10.8 REAL.Studio Web Edition 2011r3 Last edited by Akiland on Fri Dec 07, 2012 5:02 am, edited 2 times in total. Very few posts about WE say 'its working great apart from just this little thing' Its mostly lots of pain about getting it working at all, loading times, host problems... So I was curious to see what this example looked like, as a naive user. My experience? För mer info om Infuse Online LBS klickar du här! (More info click here...) ---> then Testa Har! (Test it here) ---> then Din webbläsare stöds ej! För att använda Infuse Online LBS krävs en annan webbläsare. Använd Firefox, Safari eller Chrome. So, I can see what it wants, but my machine isn't old, and Internet Explorer 8 isnt exactly rare as a browser. Im sure the app would be useful if I saw it, but... failed for me. It does not behave the way we want it to. (http://s9.postimage.org/e35esvumn/image.png) This app is used in rental apartment houses with a laundry in the basement(like most rental apartments here in sweden). So it's not beeing used by "anyone" on the internet. But further down on that page theres a big blue button that says "Installera Google Chrome Frame" (Install Google Chrome Frame). Click on that and install Google Chrome Frame and that should enable you to use it in IE. I don't know if IE support is better in newer versions of RS? I only have 2011r3 where gradients in IE and I have an issue with each other EDIT: No, IE do not work well enough in 2012r1.2 for me to enable IE without Google Chrome Frame. http://s18.postimage.org/thowwjcp5/IE8_2012r1_2.png _________________ http://www.linkedin.com/in/albinkiland Dev. iMac 27" + 2x22" LG (2.8GHz Intel Core i7, 12GB RAM, 120GB SSD) OS X 10.8 REAL.Studio Web Edition 2011r3 Top HMARROQUINC Post subject: Re: Is WE a stable platform?Posted: Fri Dec 07, 2012 8:42 am Joined: Sun Jan 25, 2009 5:11 pm Posts: 260 Location: Guatemala, Central America Thanks Akiland, I'll PM you to get the links. The lack of answers makes me think there aren't that many live apps out there. At least not many stable ones. _________________ Windows 8 Pro 64 bit / 8 GB RAM Windows 7 Premium / 8 GB RAM Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit SP1 / 4 GB RAM Windows XP Pro SP3 / 2 GB RAM OSX 4 GB RAM UBUNTU 2 GB RAM Top Display posts from previous: All posts1 day7 days2 weeks1 month3 months6 months1 year Sort by AuthorPost timeSubject AscendingDescending Page 1 of 1 [ 5 posts ]
