Well first off, id like to know what is the power of it compared by it's functionality to like Visual C++ and/or Visual C# ? 2. Can you make a wrapper dll in it ? Are you allowed to ? 3. Is the web edition any good for web development ? 4. Where does one find more advanced code editor's settings like tab indent ? 5. Is the paid developer team's support any good and/or worth it ? 6. Is it any good for game development performance/feature wise ? 7. How fast is the RADing in it compared to like Delphi and the Visual Studio products ? 8. How happy are you with it ? I'll take a stab at it. 1. Really? You really want a comparison between C++ and REALbasic? It's apples and oranges. RB is a RAD tool with modern object oriented BASIC. It's slower than C but then then there's things you can do really quickly with Real Studio that you can't do in C. 2. No. 3. It depends on what you want to do. It's not going to do well in a 10,000 user environment, but for smaller things it works well. One thing to keep in mind is that it's NOT a web site development tool. It makes web apps quickly. Note the difference. 4. No such thing. Indentation is something you can't mess with. Honestly, I think it's a good thing you can't mess with it but it seems everyone has a different opinion on this. 5. Never tried it so I can't say. In 10 years I've always been able to get help from the community. 6. I don't think it's very strong in this area. Some have done game development with RB but you might be better off with other languages/environments. 7. Never done Delphi and it's been a while since I've done anything in C but I'd say once you figure Real Studio you can create apps very quickly. Note the initial learning curve because there's a definite "RB WAY" of doing things that are unlike other languages. 8. Yes. 10+ years as a Real Studio consultant with 3 full-time RB developers. I'd say we are happy with it. _________________ Bob K. Don't Forget Your BKeeney! Bohhohoo no wrapper bohohho <.<. Would it be suitable and/or good idea to program a game server in RB, and do the client in any other tool that is considered by some people a game RAD tool ? That would probably work. _________________ Bob K. Don't Forget Your BKeeney! I mean would in game like WoW make a big performance difference, like 10 ms response slower ?
