Posts: 304 I'm thinking about letting companies install my
software on a networked drive and running it from there, but have a couple of
questions:
1. Can multiple users run the application at the same time?
I assume this is yes, but have to wait until my wife brings her laptop home
from work to test it.

2. What's the best way to limit the number of users using the software at once
(say to 3 users)?
I'm thinking I'd keep either a text file or RealSQLDatabase that logs who's
currently using it, and on startup if the log has too many users, then I'd pop
up a message listing who was using it (computer names) and then quit. When you
exit the software, it would remove it's name from the log. But if the software
crashes and doesn't restart, the computer name wouldn't get removed. Any
thoughts on how to overcome this? Besides writing software that doesn't crash?

I'd be curious to know if anyone else has done this, and to find out what your
thoughts are on how I should go about it...

Thanks!
Bill
