Posts: 268 Hi - I'm a relative new programmer of Mac as I've
lived most of my life on Windows.

I'm going to release an open source of a kind of plugin to give RS users access
to beautifully notated music from the ABC library...
In the folder that runs it I have this set of commands in a .bat file that runs
commands in control...
It accesses an a couple of exe files and a java library via command lines.
I have mac equivalents and will add a separate folder to access if the same
program is running on Mac.

it has in this file:
@echo off
REM %1 is the running directory for this batch file
REM %2 is the abc file to convert
CD %1
abc2midi Smusic1.abc
abc2abc SMusic.abc -n 2 -usekey +2
abcm2ps -v -s 1.0 -B2 %2
java -jar batik-rasterizer.jar out001.svg

which works really well... I run it from a thread in RS from this line (Sh is a
shell):

  sh.Mode = 0
  sh.TimeOut = 60000 ' 1 minute
  sh.Execute(chr(34) + f2.AbsolutePath + chr(34) + " " + chr(34) +
f2.Parent.AbsolutePath + chr(34) + " " + chr(34) + FileName + chr(34))

How do I do this from Mac? Is applescript something to do with it?

Location: San Diego, CA Applescript is one way.... or if you
want to stay in a "DOS" like mode.... you would right a Unix BASH script

BASH (and other Unix Shells) is pretty much where Bill Gates stole the idea for
DOS from to begin with....(well actually the guy that Gates stole DOS from)
