Hi Rob,
The receipt printer is connected to the parallel port and the drawer is connected to the printer.
Do you or anyone else have experience with this type connection and are having an extra inch of paper feed when the drawer is opened?

If that's the case, your application is probably sending a non-printable <Control-G> which is the BEL. Again, this "shouldn't" advance paper in the receipt printer, but I've heard of this anomoly before.
