Alstair Before printing the report make sure you have the text printer selected. R:> print reportname where .... OPTION Printer Found some other problems with that file also. It appears the text printer is putting some hidden control codes in the text file. When trying to read this file back into Sharepoint we are having problems with it. We are creating an XML file which is loaded into another program used by Sharepoint. I know I can create an XML file with the Gateway but Gateway don't permit changing the names of the tags. In the end created a command file that has alot of write commands out to a file. Thanks, Buddy, I've created a new Windows printer as you detailed and
changed the default printer on a report to the new one but it makes no
difference for me
This report, and many others, only ever get printed to a file, that is
their
sole purpose in life. They never go to a screen or a printer or a fax
or any
type of file other than plain text. There's no formatting - just line
after
line of text.
There must be something else that I haven't got right yet.
