Sharon,

I see that message every time I am not properly logged in to the network. I
dont use runtime so it may be different for your users but if your shortcut
points to the server directory and to your rbase.dat file then the message
is saying that it cant find the directory However, you say that they can
see the directory so it boils down to Davids question.

You dont say if this machine once worked and now doesnt or if its just
been installed or what your client recently did that could have triggered
the situation.

Is there any difference in network rights to the application directory from
one machine to another?

Subject: [RBG7-L] - Network Question

Hello All,

I have a 7.1 application installed on a network;
the application is on the server with the Runtime
files on the individual computers. Two computers
are working just fine but on the third when they try to
start the application, they get the error message
"Cannot read system file RBASE.DAT".
The code-locked RBASE.DAT file is in the application
directory on the server. All computers involved are
running under XP Professional (with Service Pack 2).

Any ideas on what to look for on that 3rd computer?

What I have done so far is to try removing the TEMP
file direction commandsfrom RBASE.DAT. Also I made
sure that they canSEE the application directory from
the computer that is not working.
