Damian,

We use a TimeQ Plus machine (get at any office supply company)here at our
Boston warehouse, it uses it's own software that has a lot of nice features.
One of them is to be able to export the data to ASCII, which I use to upload to
an RBase Database. It also has export functions for payroll service companies
like ADP and Paychecx, which we use to send our payroll in as well.
Another Time card product is made by Advatek Systems (www.advateksystems.ca)
that uses a Paradox Database which you could create a live real time connection
to an R:Base database using Oterro. We don't have this system but we do have
Wireless Bar code scanners from Advatek that use the Paradox DB, and then use
Oterro to connect them live to our RBase Database, so I am sure the time card
system would be just as easy to do.

Subject: [RBG7-L] - Electronic Time Card Collection

Hey Gang,

I have a client who is interested in electronically collecting their
time card data. As I have no experience with this, I was wonder what
you guys can tell me. What type of hardware do you use? In the case of
a timeclock, can the data be directly feed into an RBase database or is
it necessary to go somewhere else first?

Thanks for input,
Damian
