John,

That's the same version of ZA that I'm using, a recent upgrade from the 5 version. Something in there and something in RB definitely don't like each other. I hope that RBTI will look into this and either make them compatible or at least post a warning in future RB upgrades about the conflict with ZA.

Thank you very much for providing me the clue as to why I was getting the "Corrupt EXE file" message.

Dick,

Just tried a download with the latest version of ZA Pro on (6.0.631.003) -
same error message occurred.

Dick,

Pleased to hear that it sorted out your problem. I only discovered this
after finding that downloads to my PC at work (no Zone Alarm) were always
OK, but most (if not all) of the ones to my laptop (with ZA) gave the
corrupted file message.
I would be interested to know what version of ZA you are using. I had
version 5.5.062.011 but have just upgraded to the latest version today - I
will see if that solves the problem.

John,

Thanks! I turned off ZoneAlarm, downloaded RBG7.1 Update 9, and this time it installed fine.

I never have had a problem with R:Base updates with ZoneAlarm running until this version.

If there is an incompatibility problem between the two programs, then IMO RBTI either (1) should take steps to make the two compatible because more and more people are using ZA, or (2) put a prominent warning on the download site to warn that ZA has to be turned off before downloading RB.

As I said, until FRC9 I have never had a problem with ZA and RB before.

Dick,

That is the message I (used to) get if I forgot to turn off Zone Alarm when
downloading updates. I downloaded the latest version last night with ZA off
and it works properly. Do you have ZA or something similar on your PC ?

I just downloaded R:BASE 7.1 for Windows (Update 81) - Build: 7.1.81.30805, and when I try to open it, I get a "Corrupted EXE file" message. Looks like this needs checking.
