Larry:
As I indicated on my post, one needs to be aware of this situation. My
question is, if the user with the abnormal termination shuts down his/her
computer, does the connection go away or does it stay around? My preliminary
testing indicates that it does go away and since all the users shut down
their computers at the end of the day, at least in my case, chances are that
the last user will see only one connection...unless he/she had an abnormal
termination...in which case it will hopefully catch up the next day...
Perhaps there is a way to delete only the files created by the user? A
Windows call would likely be needed for this???

At one of the installations where I have seen this problem, R:Base is
running
24:7 and CVAL('CONNECTIONS') is almost never accurate, accruing extra
sessions
from abnormal terminations.
