Try the following at the R> prompt (7.1/7.5/V-8 "Turbo" for Windows:
(Build: 7.1.81.30812/7.5.16.30812/8.0.12.30811 or higher ...)
LAUNCH 'http://www.google.com/search?q=Alerter'
Notice the quotes are around the parameter and not the entire command
as in your example.
Imagine the possibilities!
