David,

Years ago, I use to list minimum requirements with our application installation instructions.
I found that it was to everyone's best interest when we changed that to recommended requirements. I.e., here is a configuration which will provide you with a level of performance you and I will be happy with. It goes back to the days of, "Yes it will run on 64MB of RAM, but ..."

The other item I run into over and over again is that there are still folks who want to keep old hardware and just upgrade necessary components. Again, replacement avoids a weak link in your configuration. (I realize I didn't answer you with specifics.)

A client of mine is upgrading their very old hardware and network to a new
system, expressly to handle 7.5 for Windows in the coming months.  I’ve sent
them the minimum requirements listed on the web site, but would appreciate
input from any of you who have recently been down the same road for
suggestions both on hardware and optimum network operating system.
