Dawn, I am still struggling with this (grrrrr), and not sure what I'm doing wrong. How exactly are you setting length and width? Are youy setting to landscape or portrait? I just have a few fields in the detail section, with fixed as opposed to dynamic height. Heck, I can't even get this to print anything - I get a printer error everytime I try to send something to the seiko. Any other suggestions??? Thanks Bob C.

Most of the labels I print are actually reports, not labels because I need break levels. For example, I have one report that prints on diskette labels ( 2 1/8 x 2 3/4). The paper size still says 8.5 x 11, but the width is set to 2.125 and the length is set to 2.7604 with zero margins for all but the left margin. (I added that little bit over the 2.75 to eat up some of the space between labels.) I placed my first field just slightly below the top of the report and went from there. The length of my data (the number of detail rows) varies, but because of the paper size setting, it works. You may need to do some experimenting, but I think reports offer a little more flexibility than labels. I do use labels, but for simple things like addresses and such. Those also took some trial and error getting the right size label template. I am going to get a new one soon also. The software is the latest for XP for those machines. I basically can get data to those devices, but need some tips on how to format a label for them so it makes sense. I usually wind up with multiple labels with partial words or garbage. I think there is a method to offload data to a text file and then open up some other seiko software, but I'd rather do it all in R:Base and just output to that printer. What model(s) and what version of their software do you have installed? Dawn -----Original Message----- From: Castanaro, Bob [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, October 28, 2005 8:58 AM To: RBG7-L Mailing List Subject: [RBG7-L] - Seiko Smart Label Printers I know there was some talk a while back on this list about sending R:Base data to a Seiko label printer. Does anyone remember this? I'm trying to automate a process where when we re-schedule patients in a doctors office a label prints out to slap on an appointment card. If not, How do I get to the archives? Thanks Bob C.
