This may be a big DUH, but when did we have the option to just install the ODBC drivers? I submitted enhancement request 71568 in June '04 asking for just this capability.
But you still have to install RBase on each workstation? A full version,
or just an ODBC install (I assume there's still the option to install just
the ODBC drivers?)

DSN-less connections are more secure too.
If you create a DSN, you can look in the registry and get the password in plain text.
