Ron Lau converted his 26" wheel A/R to 650B and reported that it was
a great improvement. My A/R has its old 26" wheels but I have
pondered trying the conversion just to see. Ideally I'd like to
borrow a pair of suitable wheels for a week; I am concerned about (1)
fit, although with the massive amount of clearance those frames have
this is almost certainly a non-issue and (2) handling effects from
the larger wheels. Ron, however, was very positive about this
conversion.

My interim solution is to use Panaracer Pasela tires, which have been
the best rolling tires I have found for this size wheel. I am
currently using the 26 x 1.25 non-TG tires. I might try the 1.4 at
some point.
