Doug's option A does sounds good--south of Escondido you can go through Elfin Forest/Del Dios and then back to the coast at Encinitas then up to Oceanside. Hilly, but not heinous. I can join on my Quickbeam. I live in Coronado and can Coaster up to Oceanside.
