got 700 x 60 Berthouds to fit on a bike not quite made for them:

To Jim's point, it involved a fair amount of work.  If 700 x 50 work,
you may want to stick with them rather than get involved with all the
cutting, grinding and drilling.   If you are mechanically inclined and
have the tools it is worthwhile.

Berthouds are far more sturdy than their aluminum counterparts.
