I'll let Grant speak to his decision to offer a free/free hub as a stock item. IMHO, it should have have been a fixed/free ... especially after the first production run, when it became obvious that a lot of us were running our QBs fixed.
That being said, I don't recall ever having a pedal strike on my (always fixed) QB. I don't think that's the reason for offering a free/free hub. P.S. I had a new set of wheels built for my QB (fixed/fixed) soon after I bought it. --Eric [email protected] www.campyonly.com www.wheelsnorth.org On Mar 3, 2009, at 7:54 AM, Dan Abelson wrote: > > > On Tue, Mar 3, 2009 at 8:18 AM, Patrick in VT <[email protected]> wrote: > > I forgot to ask - Does Riv have a reason why the QB doesn't come with > a fixed/free hub? > > > I wonder if the relatively low bottom bracket is a factor.
