I heartily recommend the Quickbeam, it's a FANTASTIC bike. The Steamroller is not a BAD ride, kind of fun. I can fit a 32 under the Berthoud fenders on mine.
My Quickbeam was destroyed when I was hit by a car. In need of something to work on, I put together a Steamroller (since they were AVAILABLE.) I'd much rather have another Quickbeam though, much more practical and I like practical. My funds are committed to other projects so I don't see another replacement anytime soon. Someday I think it'd be great to see the Quickbeam live on as a frameset. One could get by riding with the cog and lockring on a normal threaded freewheel hub. A dedicated fixed gear hub is better. I would recommend Phil Wood with the removable bolts. US made, durable, and helps to alleviate the difficulties of removing the rear wheel with fenders. Once the bolts are out, the wheel drops straight down. On Mar 3, 4:18 pm, Patrick in VT <[email protected]> wrote: > ooh!
