I tried that a couple of years ago. I'd been using bar ends for quite a while. It worked OK but I went back to bar ends. Can't recall now what I dis-liked but it was probably just me not getting used to something. Function was fine. My bars are up high and I don't ride on the tops much, mostly hoods and hooks.
