Yeah mine's a heffer too at 28lbs. http://tinyurl.com/43md96 60cm
frame built up with my parts. I do have a Carrdice Barley on the back
and a small Nitto rack and handlebar bag up front and two freewheels,
plus the repair/patch kit and pump; oh and battery tail and
headlights. I did take off the water bottles before I weighed it
though. Maybe 28lbs for all that isn't too bad.

I took my Quickbeam for a nice ride this Friday morning in
celebration. I am a weather forecaster by profession. Through the cold
season I rotate through Day shifts and Graveyards, but in the warm
(fire) season its Day and Evening shifts. Friday at 5AM was the last
of my Graveyards for the season. Instead of riding straight home, I
headed downtown, then out along the Colorado River trail. Drainage
winds were blowing briskly downvalley and there were warm advection
high clouds partially blocking the full moon. But it was mild, around
50, and lovely. I rode until the eastern sky turned grey, then headed
back to Main Street Bagels and had a pastry and juice for breakfast,
eating it outside in the fresh air. Then I ambled back home to go to
bed around 8AM. Nice way to end the trauma of shift work.

Oh and my handlebar bag is a new Acorn Rando bag. Wow what a great,
well-thought-out bag. I am really glad I splurged on it. The tan color
is quite nice.
