Not so. There have been many folks who have setup an 8+ speed Quickbeam simply by coldsetting the frame. I'm not saying that's the best solution, but it has be done and works fine. Still, I'd like to see a wider spaced Quickbeam, with all the braze-on fixin's for a proper internaly-geared setup (and braze-ons for a real chain case, while we're at it).
