But don't look at a map and say, "Oh Fish Rock road looks like a good 
way to get over to Hwy 128 from the coast", unless you are prepared for 
one of the hardest unpaved steep up-and-down days of riding ever. I had 
a bad map and didn't realize it would be dirt. It turned out to be a 
very good day to be on an XO-1. Atlantis would be even better. If I 
ever try that again, I'll know what I'm in for and bring enough food 
and water.

Unfortunately, my friend was on a more traditional road bike, RB-1 with 
stock gearing. That was tough, but he was studly and road all of it. I 
was using 24x28 all day. Crashing at the motel in Cloverdale concluded 
this day of riding.
