The Root is a very pretty paved trail in a charming, limestone-bluff- lined river valley in SE Mimnesota -- I think it's about 40 miles or so for the main part, with a couple other spurs of several miles each. A friend from St. Paul and I rode the length of it and back last May and had a marvelous, relaxed trip. -- Forrest (Iowa City)
