Hope everyone is fine at this point Larry. Sounded like a rotten fall,
and it reminded me that my son and his wife were out for a ride last
weekend and she took a spill on the MUNI tracks in SF. Might be worth
mentioning that following someone close can lead to a false sense of
security (she was trailing him on her own bike in this case) and not
leave enough time for the front rider to warn others of a road issue.
Not always easy, but it does put a bit of an extra burden on the lead
rider to stay focused and eye the road well ahead. She got away with
some road rash and a lesson learned. Kinda like driving a car when you
see the car ahead dodge some debris, and by the time you process that
info - you're already feeling the crap under your tires and hoping
it's not shards of steel.
