Second the recommendation for Boulevard Bikes.  A great shop with a
great bunch of workers.  The excellent and very unique Lula Cafe is
right next door for you to enjoy while repairs are underway.

Doesn't the I&M stop pretty far west of the Loop though?  If the
frontage road on I-55 gets you further, that may work.  My concern is
someone not familiar with the area may have to jump off on local
roads, many of which dead end because of all the rail, canals and
industrial stuff out there.
