given your primary purpose (club riding - in the mountains, no less!) i think you should consider the roadeo if you're dead-set on lugged steel. and build that baby up light! all things being equal, you will be slower on a heavier bike. and it's not just a matter of seconds if long climbs are involved. there's a good chance you could be minutes off if your friends are stronger riders and on lighter bikes. if you and your friends are cool with that, great! in any event, you should find out what the riding dynamic is. re: bar-ends v. brifters - it's easier to shift out of the saddle with brifters. and if you'll be climbing a lot (which it sounds like you are), that's something to consider. re: tires - Jim's post is spot-on. have fun, man - i'm so jealous of the mountains you have out there!! --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
