Ed:

I don't think I'd let the price deter me.  First, is it really that
overpriced?  Good bikes in this size are few and far between, and you
know because you've been looking for a while, so I think you should be
willing to pay a small premium.  I think you should be willing to pay
$150 or so extra to get this find.  You will end up with a great frame
that will last you a long time.  If you're into flipping bikes and
making money on them, that's one thing.  If you want something that
will make you happy for many years, spend a few more dollars.  You
aren't going to outfit it with the cheapest saddle, bars, running
gear, etc., that you can find are you?  Of course not, so don't skimp
on the frame.  It's an investment.  Go for it.
