I agonized for a while and then realized, "sometimes the best engineered solution is a hose clamp" (Garner Martin, Easy racer founder), or in our case, a P-clamp. :) The top mounts don't carry any vertical load, just horizontal. A P-clamp is short, so less flex, less vertical twisting of the rack, less weight, simple and you can't strip it out, like a braze on (which I did on my fork lowers). Less of a point stress riser on the fork too. Clayton (Bend)
