I ordered a PV-8 from Riv a couple days ago. I've been using the PD-8 for over a year now with stellar results and I expect the same from the PV-8. I haven't tried a Son or Shimano, but the quality of the SP units has been stellar. FWIW, Riv has the cheapest online price for the PV-8s!
