I have a Wilbury – no problem there, the rear brake is mounted on the midstay
bridge, so the cable run is straight to the brake straddle cable. (For
centerpulls; for sidepulls I think you can just install the cable upside down,
no straddle required.) On the Clemmie-girl, the canti posts are up near the
seat stay bridge, but the cable runs along the upper downtube, which meets the
seat tube very low, well below the seat stay bridge – hence the need to figure
out the cable run without a kink-inducing sharp turn downward. Something like
that.

Cyclotourist has a Glorious in the family. Maybe he'll comment on what kind of
brakes & how they're rigged. I occasionally see a Glorious around town and
noticed it had Dura-Ace center pulls (how old are those??) but never noticed
the actuation.

Seatpost binder bolt mounted pulleys are the usual solution, both on older

I have a few stashed away for whatever projects might call for one.

That's funny, I just called Walnut Creek to get the answer to that very
question, relative to my pre-ordered blue 52cm. (Also funny because we're all
sitting here worrying about build issues for a frame we're not even going to
have for another 7 months at the earliest!) I got Miesha, then Will, who said
it would probably require some sort of pulley arrangement, but that V-brakes
were really better for the Clementine for this reason, and then (after a brief
Will-Mark consultation) suggested I email Mark because he might have an
alternative approach. Which I did, just now. Will report back on whatever I
learn.

Nice! I can't wait for mine. Did I say mine? I meant my wife's...

One thing I haven't got my thick head around yet is the routing for the rear
brake cable. We'll see soon enough when some build pics go up I guess, but I'm
wondering what the trick is to get the cable from under the 'mixte stay' to a
cable stop for a rear canti brake?
