Agreed. I carry one tube with me when riding longer distances tubeless. For rides under a couple of hours, I don't bother with a spare tube. I think you have a separate problem, though, if your tires are deflating completely in a short time. I have found that tubeless compatible tires generally don't hold air for as long as tubeless-ready tires. For tubeless compatible, I add air weekly so they don't deflate completely.
