Pre-riding is highly encouraged! I picked up three goatheads this weekend,
but was randomly screwing around on some little trails I found. I had
Stan's in tubes, so they sealed right up when I pulled them out. If you
know when you're coming down, and it extends to the evening or Sat
afternoon, you could go over to the BikeBBQ <http://www.bikebbq.com/> and
have a tube-filling party. Pretty easy to pull the core out and fill with
Stan's if you know what to do. If that doesn't work out and you can't get
the Slime tubes dialed in, bringing extra tubes (maybe three between you?)
is your next best bet.

50km route is going to be great: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/12362494 A
great sampler of what we flat-landers have to offer!
