I was fortunate to meet several of you DC area folks last year when I came out for the C&O tour. Some of you even rode and camped with us. We had such a great time, we wanted to come back and do something similar this year.
Me, son-in-law Carey, and Steve Butcher (graveldoc) are planning a return this year for the GAP trail tour. Like last year, our itinerary is a little constrained. But we want to extend the invitation for you to join in, or meet-up somewhere, just in case it works out. The plan looks like this... Thursday (10/6) - arrive in Silver Spring Friday (10/7) - time with my grandson, but flexible for a meet-up Saturday (10/8) - part of day devoted to family outing, but also coffeeneuring somewhere in Silver Spring, morning meet-up opportunity Sunday (10/9) - drive to Pittsburgh, hoping to drop in at Gravel and Grind for a visit on the way Monday-Thursday (10/10 to 10/13) - ride from Pittsburgh to Cumberland, MD on the GAP trail, some camping, some lodging Friday (10/14) - time with my grandson, but some flexibility for a meet-up Saturday (10/15) - return to Texas I've already had a couple of offline conversations with a couple of you, and hope we'll be able to visit with you again this year. If anyone is interested in riding the GAP trail with us, I'll be happy to provide more details on our anticipated schedule for that.
