The GAP is a very well maintained, well drained, wide, relatively smooth path. I saw exactly 1 pothole on my trip from McKeesport to Cumberland. The C&O Towpath by contrast can turn into a sea of mud with washouts. the surface is very rough and in some places it is double track with a 20-30 foot drop-off into the canal only a few inches from where you're riding. The GAP is a bike trail, the C&O Towpath in some places is virtually mountain biking. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
