I don't have a lot to contribute but I just grabbed a pair of Giro ProofMTB booties. The onslaught of rain hadn't Sambas soaked after a commute. These aren't fully waterproof but they keep my feet warm with a pair of Darn Tough socks even in the East Bay monsoon on Tuesday. They slip on easily, have a cut out on the bottom for a cleat that works just fine with my Sambas and VP flat pedals.
