Such a great question. I like to be able to go ANYWHERE on my bikes, but I don't always want to run a triple or lose high-end gears. 19 fest inches gets me up anything I'll tackle. Would I settle for 20.3? On anything other than a touring bike, yes. Would I feel the difference? On a long, difficult climb, it would be on my mind, but it wouldn't put me walking.
