I think you're considering the right bike for your application, but I have to say that I don't own a Clem, but a Joe Appaloosa (my first Riv and I LOVE it), as that one fit my needs better.
However, if needed a bike for what you describe, I would have bought a Clem L. If you're thinking Clem H, also consider a Joe Appaloosa. Gossamer on this board has a 58 cm one listed for sale and they come up for sale every so often. I don't think you could go wrong with Clem L or either Clem or Joe looking for an "H".
