If you have a 650b bike with cantilever studs, all you need to do is use Paul Motolite linear brakes, you can run 650b, 700c, and probably even the old 27". As the wheel diameter gets larger, the tire gets narrower due to frame and fork clearance, but the brakes can be adapted to a huge range of larger rim diameters just by sliding the shoe clamp up the brake arm..
