I am 6' tall with a 53.5 PBH - short legs, loooong torso. I ride a 56cm Sam
(last generation - Double TT) it is too "big" for me according to Riv's
sizing recommendations, But I need to put the seat back all the way on the
post and use a 100 cm stem with drops. Because my body proportions are
several standard deviations from the norm, I have almost always ridden a
bike that is too "big" for me. Years ago when I bought a LeMond Buenos
Aires, the shop measured my pubic bone height and tried to put me on a 54
cm frame. It was comically undersized, even the salesman agreed. I ride
what is comfortable to ride, not what I can comfortably straddle when I
stop.
