I'd second that. The whole of China Camp State Park is on the north side of the San Geronimo Ridge, and the campground is up a relatively narrow valley. It is always just a hair chillier than the surroundings. I couldn't tell if you were going to just roll into camp via the roads, or if you were going to try to take the trail. Trail conditions are pretty excellent on the lower (Shoreline trail), but if you are hauling gear for two, it may be a bit challenging. If you want a bit o' dirt then look for the entrance to the group camp area about a mile before the campground entrance, and head up that way. You can follow a relatively level and smooth section of road and trail around to the entrance. They also have just reopened McNear's Pier at the park near where you will be parking. I long ago found that a good LED headlight is an excellent riding/camping partner. Keep an eye out for the wild turkeys. They are usually prowling around in the morning and at sunset.
