Front loads make a lot of sense, and provide a better overall weight distribution. Back in the day the wisdom was that a front load needed to be carried as low as possible for stability, but I put some heavy stuff in front baskets routinely, and have never had a problem with wobble or any of the promised horrors of a high front load.
