My post wasn't hyperbole. And I take offense at you calling it
hyperbole because it's an under handed way of calling me a liar. You
don't know the facts, so how can you make a judgement like that?

I called Rivendell three times over the last 3-4 years in an attempt
to order an Atlantis in a discontinued size. The first time was soon
after they discontinued the large sizes. The second time was when
Rivendell announced that they would be accepting orders for one last
round of Toyo built frames. The other time was after Waterford
started making the Atlantis frames. At no time was I told, "We can do
that, but may we suggest alternative frames?" Instead, each time I
asked about ordering one of the discontinued sizes, I was told "No."
Flat out, unequivocal, "No."

After I read that the Atlantis frames were being made by Waterford, I
thought it might not matter what size Atlantis you ordered. I knew
Waterford had the capability to build any size frame because they
accept custom orders for large frames themselves. After being told,
"No" by Rivendell once again when I inquired about ordering a
discontinued size, I pressed the point. I asked why Waterford
couldn't make an Atlantis in any of the discontinued sizes. In an
irritated tone, the Rivendell salesperson repeated, "We won't take an
order for an Atlantis in that size."

I could understand the irritation. A customer doesn't have the right
to know "why?". I asked the question, Rivendell declined to explain
their reasons, end of story.

You know how you get really excited when you make the decision to buy
a new bike? Each time I called Rivendell about ordering an Atlantis,
that excitement turned to disappointment in short order.

It was not even suggested that I could order a custom and have
Rivendell build me a stock Atlantis. The answer was simply "No."

My three attempts to buy an Atlantis in a discontinued size were all
met with the same response: "No." Is that adamant? It sure felt like
adamance.

If only I had known about the Horse's Mouth...
