I have those brakes on my QB. I never noticed the play although I imagine it's there. I did notice the chatter and figured it was due to me setting up the brakes. Just this past weekend I had a Chris King HS installed and the straddle carrier was replaced with a Salsa one. i haven't had a chance to ride the bike yet so I'm unsure about chatter. Still, I haven't really been impressed by the brakes and doubt I'd get them again. I really like the IRD cantis I have on my Surly. At some point I'll probably swap them out.
