I originally had the Surefoot 8's on my Quickbeam, but I put on some
Grip Kings because the spin started to get very stiff, and the pedals
had a lot of play on the spindles. I am unsure of how to remedy those
problems, but I may take them to my LBS and give them another try. I
did find them to be a bit narrow, but that was with Birkenstock
Profis, I'm thinking with tennis shoes the setup would work a little
better.

I also found the Tioga Spyder model for about $75, and if that's
significantly wider I may try them. Tioga does seem to make a good
pedal and I love the grip, I just need to hone my pedal maintenance
skills I guess...
