I guess I "third" the GKing slicks.  I have them on two of my Homer Hilsen 
and Betty Foy (and on one Riv I sold, an Appaloosa) and LOVE them. 
 Platypus now is sporting another GK, I think the SS, which I don't like as 
much, but I wanted one bike with tire that had a "bite."  The Hilsen had 
the panaracer pacelas originally, but I like the slicks so much better.

I've gone thru one pair after a few years, but cannot tell you the milage. 
 I do run them tubeless and changed them when I started seeing orange weep 
holes in the tire.  I probably could have gotten many more miles, but 
seeing as I have tubeless because I dislike flats, I changed them out 
before I ever had a flat.
