I'm gonna muddy the waters here a bit.
If you want the cushy feel of 650b hetres you don't have to go to the
Big Apples (and they DON'T give the feeling of hetres anyway). But the
700c Jack Browns in the lighter weight do. My 700c bike fits Big
Apples...eh, kinda heavy, makes it a bit sluggish.
The Jack Browns feel a lot like the hetres on my kog.
I do find Hetres to be a little bit sluggish, and that the Cypres are
fine for dirt roads. Data point, I weigh 170lbs and often carry 20 -
40 lbs of stuff on my daily rides which include poorly maintained dirt
roads.
And the 650b Cypres feel a lot like the 700c Grand Bois ( Grand Bois =
big wood - which is always quite amusing to me as of course we all
ride on big wood; I always have to raise the bar a bit; I'll be here
all week).
Most of the time I'm riding 700c Grand Bois, and they are quite cushy,
and important for me, fast.
